"Alchemist poetry"
The new or improved products that come to market make me, as an artist, constantly have to start testing and experimenting with these materials again. The diversity of product upgrades makes a studio seem like a lab, and I compare myself to the obscure alchemist of the "Dark Ages". My fascination has been lost in wrong combinations and fighting reaction mechanisms. The emergence of hypnotic fractals from this paradoxical chaos fascinates me. Unpredictability is inevitable when trying to capture the fleeting chemistry. I let the aesthetics of capriciousness take its course and add some artificiality here and there.
The emotions in my work balance between a Zen feeling and stress. It is also a kind of pseudo-scientific resistance to the abundance of images in contemporary society that cause our inspiration to disappear and memories to take over. Everything seems to have been done before in the visual language, except for the few remaining combinations of new products or inventions. A synthesis of so many existing images leads to abstraction in our consciousness. We are also at the end of our own identity and are constantly bombarded with other patterns of thought. The pure in our work is only an illusion, we have become a kind of robot for the larger global inspirational think tank. We all incubate the next discoveries and trends together, hoping for a discovery and to contribute to the evolution.
Man cannot do without nature, and nowadays it seems that people are starting to think that nature can no longer do without man. Genes are modified, plants and animals are artificially bred, medicines are stronger and better, attempts at climate control are being made, all these features seem to indicate that we are mastering nature and overcoming its ailments. Until we are reprimanded again by a disaster or plague, the majority quickly forgets that we are part of that nature. The playing of God also comes back in my work by trying to master chemical reactions or, by way of speaking, by searching for the formula to create gold.
Modern technology is the catalyst for all this, in which we place our hope and let our future depend. Today, the self-evident nature of knowledge has the ability to forget that information is still a luxury, not everyone has the knowledge. Dictatorships are more shielded from global communication at the expense of the intelligence of their people. But even in our so-called free democratic capitalist world, there are methods to keep people stupid and manipulate them. We ourselves have all become products that can be monetized. One can choose an alternative way of life, such as sects do, but then becomes a slave to their own decision over the years. It is always better to know more about your enemies than the other way around. Freedom is also a virtual illusion. Our dreams are our true possessions and they are free to control. Nothing in the world is perfect, one can always perform better. Somewhere in the world there is someone who has the solution to the next step or higher. My work is a wink to that hypermodern technology and science by going back to the primitive origin of it and exploring whether we have forgotten anything at the base and whether we are fundamentally wrong.
I associate my work with solitude, meditative feelings that arise from isolation from society. It is like a piece of the puzzle, a contribution to the positive and constructive of the human subconscious. A treat or pick-me-up or atmosphere-bringer through the difficult and tough periods. It is not necessary to see or feel anything in it, everyone is free in their interpretation. This freedom is also found in the combination of my paint experiments, bring together different elements and something new arises. Cosmology on a small scale.
"Alchemist poetry"
As a child, I was fascinated by the beauty of mathematics and later computer science. How we are able to create, modify, and record images and sound. There was a certain mystery behind every device or program. The mysterious labs where shadowy scientists tinkered with the next improvements, put my imaginative inspiration into full gear.
On the other hand, I also had the greatest admiration for those who try to completely avoid technology in order to achieve a pure masterpiece. A human being who, through much practice and study, can almost perform superhumanly, producing virtuoso works with the illusion that it takes no effort.
The combination of man and machine allows us to explore a new domain in image creation as an artist. This interaction is almost indispensable today, almost everyone uses technologies on top of their own skills to ultimately achieve stronger and faster results.
My own search for an intriguing image has made me crawl through all my brain twists. Both as a path to follow along with all sorts of experiments with machines and software. It has come to the point where I can no longer do without those mathematicians who finely program all those specific tasks, I am secretly waiting for their next updates. The virtuosos among the coders make life easier for everyone.
